Kate Clanchy is a poet, author and journalist. She has been awarded both the BBC National Short Story Award and the V.S. Pritchett Memorial Prize. ‘The Real Story’ comes from the 2011 Asham Awards anthology,
Something Was There, edited by Kate Pullinger.
